Have you experienced the resurrection power of Jesus Christ today?

Good Friday GCT!  As we look to Sunday and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead I want to ask you one question.  Do you believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead physically?  Just think with me for a moment how much of your life as a believer is dependent upon Jesus having risen from the dead.  Every prayer we pray, every hope we hope, every song we sing, every desire to live a holy life, every second of reading Scripture, every cry for forgiveness, every need for mercy, and every act of repentance is all dependent upon Jesus’ tomb being empty and Him being resurrected.  All of our past, present and future standing with Christ depends upon the resurrection.  

The resurrection changes everything.  The resurrection even changes death from being the end to it being a beginning.  The resurrection changes funerals from when we say “good-bye” to a time we can say “we’ll be together again soon.”  Without the resurrection of Jesus Christ this entire Christianity thing would be a sham.  It would be bogus.  It would be futility.  Do you believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ?

Mark 16:4-6 And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. 6 And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here.

Jesus is alive and His resurrection is one of eternal power!  The power of His resurrection was not just for the one day almost 2000 years ago.  His resurrection power is for you to experience everyday.  Jesus wants you to experience the same resurrection power that He experienced when He arose from the dead out of the stone tomb.  Paul spoke frequently about his desire was to "know Jesus and the power of his resurrection."(Philippians 3:10)  Know resurrection power through the Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead.

GCT, lets strive to know the resurrection as more than a historical event.  Let's know the resurrection power of Jesus Christ in our daily lives.  The Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the dead seeks to give you a life filled with the resurrection power of Jesus Christ by raising you from the dead spiritually and empowering you to conquer sin daily.  Sunday, we will be looking at how the resurrection power is to be experienced in power and much more than just a one time event.
