Joy, Joy, Joy - Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere that Jesus Christ is born!

December 21, 2018
GCT:  The JOY of Scripture at Christmas time is overwhelming!  I pray that you are increasing your joy this Christmas through reading the world of God.  When you go through Scripture with the desire to find the truths of Christmas you will find the reasons for Jesus coming everywhere.  They start to jump off of every page.  Christmas is everywhere in the Bible.  The Son of God coming to Earth is the greatest truth to seek, behold and share.  As you look deeper and deeper into the story of Christmas you start to realize that words fall significantly short to describe this wonder of wonders.  Join with me and let Scripture increase your delight for Christmas and for telling others of this good news.  Here are seven scriptures that are Christmas JOY stimulants that also result in going and telling these truths from the mountain and over the hills and everywhere that Jesus Christ is born.  Take these seven truths of Scripture and consider who needs to hear these promises of this GREAT NEWS of Christmas.

Luke 4:18 Jesus came to proclaim release to the captives and the recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.  Who do you know that needs release?  Who do you know that needs spiritual sight for the first time?  Who do you know that is oppressed?

1 John 3:8 Jesus came into the world to destroy the works of the devil.  Who do you know that is held captive by the works of the devil?  What devilish works in your life need to be destroyed?

John 3:16-17 Jesus came into the world because God so loved the world that whoever believes on him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but in order the world might be saved through Him.  Who do you know that lives under not only the condemnation of others but far worse the condemnation of God?

John 10:10 Jesus came into the world so that we may have life, and have it abundantly.  Who do you know is living a live of spiritual weakness and insufficiency?  Who do you know that is missing the abundance of life that Jesus has come to give?

1 Timothy 1:15 Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.  Who do you know that lives under the wrath of God that needs to be saved from that wrath to come?  Who do you know that is captured by sin and needs a rescue?

Hebrews 2:14 Jesus came into the world to render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and so Jesus came to free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.  Who do you know that is held captive by the devil’s chains of slavery?  Who needs to be reminded that Jesus has rendered Satan powerless – having no power?

Romans 8:32 Jesus came to ultimately give us all things as He sits at the right hand of God making intercession for us.  Wow, who needs to know that Jesus will meet every need of theirs through God’s powerful plan of redemption?  Every need.  All.

How great our joy!  Joy ! Joy! Joy!  Let us share this joy delightfully.  We will be worshipping Sunday with this joy coming from the Christmas story of Luke.
