2 Corinthians 5:15 "...and He died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for Him who for their sake died and was raised."
Church, think about how sin makes us want to live "for ourselves" in our own self-defined world instead of for Christ. Jesus has come so that we would escape our own world seeking to fulfill our own will. Jesus has intended for us to live in a world that transcends our will and desires to live in God's will which is for the sake of Christ and others. Pursuing God's will comes with a promise that it is a will that is "good, acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:1-2). Let us be a people who are not conformed to this world by following our own will but is transformed by God's will, His good, acceptable and perfect will.
Father, You transform us, You have brought us into new life, You have given us the Helper, the Holy Spirit, who teaches us all things and brings to our remembrance all that You have said in Christ. Empower Your Spirit within us to release us to live for You in our relationships with all of our neighbors starting with our own families. Transform us through the leadership of your Spirit who guides us into all Truth. Lead us away from seeking a life pursuing our own desires replacing that desire to seek and to savor knowing Your will. In Jesus name, Amen.
