You were never called to fight alone in your daily battles against the flesh, Satan and the powers of darkness - Be Strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

Hey GCT:  How often do you consider that at any given moment there is a myriad of spiritual forces of evil that oppose you in all that you ever do for the Lord or anything you do from faith?  We are called to be prepared for the fact that the moment we are inclined to repent and begin to turn to Jesus in faith or to do His will the devil will exert himself with a vengeance to use all his deceits and wickedness to prevent us from doing so.  If he sees that he cannot prevent you from pursuing the Lord and doing His will, Satan and his demons will then endeavor to torment and trouble you, to keep you from living a holy and joyful life.  Are you being attacked now by spiritual forces of evil?  How is your prayer life?  Are you winning against sin?  How is your marriage?  Are you involved in slanderous idle talk?  Are you believing false doctrine?  Are you withholding forgiveness?  Are you quarrelsome?  Scripture tells us that these are some of the ways that Satan is at work in our lives to destroy us and our faith.  This is why Paul calls us in Ephesians 6:10-19, to get ready for the attacks that will come in all circumstances as flaming darts of the wicked one himself.  We are in a fight!  And the only way to not be defeated is to fight “in the Lord and in the strength of His might.”   Fighting on our own in the strength of our own power means ultimate defeat.  GCT, how are you doing in your daily preparation to be “strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might?”  

C. S. Lewis said in his book Screwtape Letters that when it comes to devils and demons there are 2 equally wrong and equally damaging errors. He said, “One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to have an unhealthy interest in them.”  Let us not fall into either category.

Instead, let us spend some time considering the reality of our daily battle with "the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” and develop a strong holy desire to “stand against the schemes of the devil” through the gospel of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
