Celebrating God's Daily Faithfulness

June 4, 2021
Church Family: God is completely faithful to His children all day, every day, no matter what!  Faithfulness is God’s nature.  From Genesis to Revelation, we see that God always keeps His word to all of His children throughout all generations.  If God is not always faithful to us He would not be God.  This is such an amazing promise to be enjoyed every day. God is faithful!

This Sunday we celebrate God’s perfect faithfulness to us as His church, the body of Christ.  God has promised us great things and He has been faithful in delivering those promises.  He also promises to continue to be faithful in those promises our next ten years.  How do we know that?  Because God is faithful.  As I look back on the first ten years of GCT, some of the years seem to have become like dog years.  One year was like seven.  During those years it was difficult to trust in God’s faithfulness.  God was not doing things the way I thought that He needed to do them.  And it became clear that my timing was definitely not His timing.  Looking back, during those challenging years, fear set in and I started to question God’s faithfulness.  Will God be faithful to me and to us as a church?

During those "dog years" was exactly the time when God said fight for trust!  “Fight!  Steve, do not let the world talk you out of me being perfectly faithful.”  God shows us through the life of David that we must fight for faithfulness no matter what the world system throws at us!  David says, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?” (Psalm 56:3-4)  I would not trade those “dog years” for anything.  God makes promises realized in tangible ways in the difficult moments of life.  Those lessons learned will never be forgotten.

Church, God’s faithfulness promised to us individually and as the church are immeasurable and eternal.  God will never be unfaithful.  He has always delivered on these promises and will continue to do so.  Let us remember as we celebrate God's faithfulness that He also calls us to live out the same faithfulness.  God has made us His children and we are to be like Him, faithful.  Church, as we celebrate the ten years of God’s faithfulness to us as a body of believers called Grace Community Church of Topsail, let us also commit to being faithful to God and to our brothers and sisters in Christ in the family of God.  Let our testimony be… Faithfulness.

In Exodus 34:6 The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness…

Thank you God for being faithful yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Don’t forget that we have a church work day, tomorrow, Saturday, June 5, from 8am-2pm.
And then our 10 year celebration party Sunday, June 6, from 10am until.

See you tomorrow, Steve
