How not to be a lopsided, wonky Christian.

Happy Thanksgiving Church Family:  Do you worship Jesus as the Lion?  Or do you worship Jesus as the Lamb?  Or do you worship Jesus as the Lion and the Lamb? If you are worshipping Jesus as only the Lamb or only the Lion you are worshipping only half the God that Jesus is intended to be to you.  Don’t miss out on Jesus’ Lion excellencies or His Lamb excellencies.  If we enjoy only His Lion qualities or just His Lamb qualities we become a lopsided, wonky Christian.  Jesus wants us to know Him as the Lion and the Lamb.

Jesus as the Lion is all-powerful, fearless, and fierce as He gives His great power to His people.  He gives us the power to stand up against all sin that is in opposition to His Kingdom.  We have the complete power that we need through Jesus to be victorious and more than conquerors during the things to come against us in this world.  Jesus will prevail in every battle, He is the Lion of the tribe of Judah.  He has the eternal promises of God to triumph in every eternal battle (Genesis 49:8-12).  He will bring every believer victory while we follow Him in this world that has gone crazy.  The Lion will devour the evil that works against you.  Do not fear.  He is fierce and fearless against the enemy.  Trust in the Lion, Jesus.

While Jesus reigns as the Lion of Judah, He also exists as the spotless Lamb who was slain.  He is innocent, unthreatening, meek and gentle in this world that vigorously sought to slaughter Him.  Yes, Jesus was physically slain as the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world.  In His meekness He did not fall into sin.  Every thought, word, and action of the Lamb was and is pure and holy, and righteous.  Like the innocence of a Lamb.  He was tempted in all ways like us, yet without sin.  Because of Jesus as the spotless, untarnished Lamb, we can approach His throne with confidence knowing that we will receive mercy and find grace in time of need.  He is the spotless, sinless Lamb!  He knows what temptations we come up against so He deals with us gently like a Lamb.  And yet He still rules and reigns like a Lion.  Jesus’ victory as the spotless, sinless, innocent Lamb came through what the world considered defeat, crucifixion.  And the world continues to seek to slaughter His people, the church.  However, Jesus is more than a conqueror and reigns on the throne of God in heaven as the "Lamb standing as though it has been slain."  We are called to the same path as Jesus, die to self in meekness and innocence  which brings victory in Christ with power, fearlessness and fierceness like a Lion.  
 
We worship a slaughtered conqueror.  Know the Lion.  Know the Lamb.  All of heaven is singing to the Lamb who was slain, that He is the Lion!  “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!” (Rev 5:12)  Jesus is the Lamb who was slain but He has the excellencies of the eternal Lion of Judah.  Enjoy Jesus as the Lion and the Lamb so that you will not be a lopsided, wonky follower of Christ.

Romans 5:6 And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain...
