The Slain Lamb is also a Lamb of Wrath for some

Church Family:  Jesus!  The Lamb standing as though it had been slain (Rev. 5), is worthy to open the scroll of the promises, purposes, and plans of God because He is God.  He has ransomed people from every tribe, language, people and nation.  He has made us, followers of the Lamb, a kingdom of priests to our God and we shall reign with Him in His kingdom!  That is the good news of the gospel!

But, with every good news there has to be bad news to make the good news - Good.  That same slain Lamb also brings great wrath!  Wrath that brings final judgment to the world.  Jesus, the redeemer, also brings judgment.  Judgment for who?  The wrath of the Lamb (Rev. 6:16) comes in judgment upon those who do not follow the slain Lamb, Jesus Christ?  The wrath of the Lamb is released upon those do not worship Him as the slain Lamb, Jesus Christ.  If you are not a follower, a worshipper of Jesus, be afraid!  Fear!  Repent, because the sixth seal of judgment will be opened upon you.  The sixth seal judgment is for your repentance.  The same slain Lamb who receives us as enemies and then reconciles us and presents us as holy and blameless and above reproach before God on His throne, is the same Lamb that releases His wrath upon this unbelieving world.  Jesus has been patient and has given endless opportunities for repentance but His wrath is coming and the only people who can stand are those who have been ransomed and made into a kingdom of priests by the Lamb (5:9-10).

The sixth seal of judgment, the wrath of the Lamb, will judge and destroy every political organization, college, government, army, nation, philosophical movement, financial institution and person that refuses to submit to His Lordship.  You would think that the cataclysmic releasing of this judgment would bring an awakening of repentance but that does not happen (6:15-16).  Instead, those in power and those who are the lowly do not repent. They run and try to hide themselves from the face of Him who is seated on the throne.  Not wise!  Hiding from God has never turned out well for anybody.

If you are reading this and thinking, this will not happen, repent, the window of time given to repent is closing.  If you have rejected Jesus, if you are indifferent to Him, I pray that this will bring fear and then repentance and then great delight that the slain Lamb of God has redeemed you from the wrath of the Lamb.  Enjoy the great news that the redeemed of the Lamb will never face the wrath of the Lamb!  Enjoy that gospel reality today, Merry Christmas.  Thank you, Jesus.
