Living Life In Light of "The End"

Church Family: The life that you and I have today is something we have done nothing to deserve. Each moment of our lives is a gift from God in His story of redemption. Our lives are a gift for a little time and one day those lives will be taken back for either the glory of God or for shame and everlasting contempt (Daniel 12:1-2). Daniel 12, is the chapter that is called, “The End.” God says there will be an end to this chapter of His story of redemption and we cannot do anything about it. We cannot change the date or how in which it comes. Are you prepared? Do you live your life considering the reality that your life will end? Yes, Jesus could come back before that happens but statistically speaking based upon history our physical death is more likely to occur before His second coming appears. 

God speaks very clearly to Daniel through Gabriel the truth that there will be an end to all this craziness on earth we call life. When we accept this truth deep into our hearts we will see life and live life in light of "The End." Accepting this hard truth reorients us to enjoy God and His good gifts that He has put right in front of us right now. Look around you right now. Can you see those good gifts? Do you see your family, your spouse as a gift to be enjoyed? Do you enjoy your life or are you too busy? Are you pouring your life out serving and loving your neighbor? Do you share the gifts and blessings that God has given you, possessions, money and time? Or are you pursuing goals and ambitions that will never deliver what they promise? Do you read the Bible as if God, the giver of your life, is speaking to you today? Are you living holy lives that God has called you to live? Are you enjoying His creation?

Church, "The End" will come. Let Daniel 12, and God’s promise of “The End”, reorient us to live our lives backwards knowing that Jesus will bring His recompense, reward with Him to repay each one for what he has done (Revelation 22:12).  

Daniel 12:10 Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand.
