Church Family: Did you know that everyday our Heavenly Father seeks people to worship Him (John 4:23)? Right now, whatever you are doing, wherever you are doing it and however you are doing it, our Father in heaven is seeking you to worship Him in Spirit and Truth. His desire is that you would worship Him in “whatever” you do (1 Cor. 10:31). "Whatever" are you doing right now? Is it done in worship?

But how are we to worship in the "whatever" of life? Jesus says that all of our worship of our Heavenly Father in the "whatever" MUST be done in Spirit and Truth. He says this as though this is not an option for acceptable worship. Whatever we do, whenever we do it, however we do it, is to be done glorifying God in Spirit and Truth. Alright, so how do we do this Spirit and Truth worship in all of life?

We worship in Truth by letting life be conformed by the Revelation of God in Scripture. We must be informed by Truth as to who God is and what He is like. Worship is always a response to Truth and an understanding of who God is and what He has done for us in Jesus Christ. To worship without the Truth of Scripture leads us to worship a false god that is of your own making.

We worship in Spirit by first being born again by the Spirit of God who then leads us to the Truth of who He is in Jesus Christ. Having been awakened to new life, the Spirit within us leads us to live crucified lives with Christ (Gal 2:20). Living life as a living sacrifice, crucified by the power of the Holy Spirit is our spiritual worship (Romans 12:1). Worshipping God in Spirit assures us that the "whatever" we do cannot just be mechanical. We cannot go through life just mechanically doing this or doing that. Instead, a life lived worshiping in the Spirit is the totality of life awakened to the never-ending beauty, splendor and power of God. You see Him working every where and doing amazing things. The Spirit will be constantly stirring your heart to rejoice and give thanks to God for all the things he has done. The Spirit will be revealing to you all that God has done for you in Jesus Christ and you are then the light of Christ in "whatever" you are doing. Worship in the "whatever."

John 4:23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship Him.

See you Sunday with great joy, Steve
