That You May Be Certain

November 29, 2018
Hey GCT: Have you ever had what seemed to be a mosquito buzzing around your faith?  An annoying buzzing of doubt that persists and keeps you up at night because the mosquito of doubt follows you everywhere.  Buzz buzz buzz!  The mosquito of doubt questions if all of this Jesus stuff and Bible stuff is really true?  Can I really be forgiven?  Can I really have my prayers answered?  Am I really going to have eternal life with my Father in heaven?  Luke, the writer of the Gospel of Luke, wrote his persuasive gospel for a Guy named Theophilus who had elements of doubt.

Starting this Sunday we are going to begin our study of the Gospel of Luke which will last for well over a year.  We are going to be looking at the life of Jesus every week so that we can be formed into HIs likeness and have our faith strengthened, killing the mosquitoes of doubt in our lives.  This is going to be an exciting journey where we let the Lord speak through His perfect word that was written through the inspiration of the Spirit.  Luke’s gospel is the longest and most complete gospel.  It includes incredible details the other gospels omit.  This week we will be starting with an introduction of the man Luke who did the research and writing that has been considered by even non-Christian ancient historians as flawless.  Well of course it is.  We as believers know the Gospel of Luke was ultimately given to us by God and is breathed out by Him to Luke.

Please take some time and start reading Luke.  After a quick intro we will be getting to the Christmas story and will remain there through December.  I look forward to growing together as a body of Christ through this study of The Gospel of Luke.  I pray that we would, as Luke says in Luke 1:4, know the exact truth about the things you have been taught.
